THE MEANINGFUL VISIT OF AIDE ET ACTION INTERNATIONAL TO VIETNAM: ELEVATING EDUCATION QUALITY AND EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES

AEA Vietnam was honored to welcome Mr. Giles DELECOURT, CEO of AEA International, and Mr. Xavier DUVAUCHELLE, Deputy Program Director, to Vietnam from April 8th to April 12th, 2024. This marked Mr. Giles Delecourt’s first visit to Vietnam since assuming his new role in July 2023.
 
During this visit, the delegation visited and monitored AEA program activities in Vietnam, met and exchanged with partners, different stakeholders and donors. The delegation visited the Community-based Nutrition Education model and the Children’s Club implemented in Cao Son commune and Tien Phong commune, Da Bac district, Hoa Binh province.
 
At the meeting with Ms. Bui Thi Kim Tuyen, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh Province, both sides discussed AEA’s contributions to improving the quality of education for children, the locality’s plans for the near future, and cooperation between the two parties to further enhance the effectiveness of activities being implemented locally.

In Lao Cai, the delegation met and exchanged with Ms. Ha Thi Khanh Nguyet, Chairwoman of the Provincial Women’s Union, regarding the role and cooperation of the Women’s Union in supporting ethnic minority women in economic development and income improvement.
 
The AEA delegation also had the opportunity to visit some enterprise models under the Incubator Program supported by AEA, to learn about local culture, and to listen and exchange views on the challenges and difficulties faced by young ethnic minority people.
This visit holds significant importance as AEA Vietnam is in the process of developing its strategic activities for 2025-2029.
