FIVE YEARS SUPPORTING ETHNIC MINORITY YOUNG START-UPS AND MORE…

On March 18th, in Sa Pa (Lao Cai), Aide et Action Vietnam coordinated with the Vietnam Youth Union of Lao Cai province to organized a conference to summarize and share the results of the “Business Incubator” Project. The “Business incubator” supports ethnic minority youth to start businesses.
The project was implemented from 2019 to 2023 in Lao Cai and Hoa Binh provinces with sponsorship from HSBC Bank and Aide et Action International. The project aims to create an “incubation” network for entrepreneurial initiatives of ethnic minority youth, support the implementation of business ideas and spread the entrepreneurial spirit.The project has achieved impressive results after 5 years of implementation:
👉Built the first model to support ethnic minority youth to start a business in Vietnam;
👉 78 business models of ethnic minority youth are supported;
👉 20 unique models with in-depth support, branding, output connection for products and services;
👉 198 Youths improved their capacity in business management, financial management, sales marketing, participating in trade fairs, and expanding business partner networks.

Outstanding products include: wild honey, Da river fish, Shan Tuyet tea, herbal essential oils, herbal soap, etc. The Nursery’s products have conquered major markets such as Hanoi and Lao Cai. , Hai Phong, Ha Long, Ninh Binh, Ho Chi Minh, An Giang and other distribution networks.
The project’s achievements are the result of close support and coordination between AEA and local agencies, businesses and communities. This is an important foundation for the locality to maintain and expand this model to neighboring areas.

The project summary session was honored to welcome the participation of more than 60 delegates who are representatives of Sponsor HSBC Bank, European Institute for Development Cooperation (IECD), Vietnam Youth Union of Lao Cai Province, Lao Cai Provincial Women’s Union, Lao Cai Startup Club, startup consultants, and nearly 30 young members of the AEA Business Incubator.
